ToeTagU Wins SCOOP Main Event
The Spring Championship of Online Poker awarded its big winner Monday. Ryan “toetagU” Fair won the big prize, which was more than $1 million.
More than 170,000 players participated in the SCOOP www.PokerStars.net events, which ended with three versions of the main events; the main events were held over a total of two days. More than 190 countries were represented during the event which spanned 38 days, and almost all of those countries had at least one cash winner during the run of the tournament. More than $63 million in total prize money was awarded.
This tournament is unique because it's played entirely online, rather than at a casino somewhere in the world. As poker players the world over prepare for the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour events, this event allowed any player who could buy into the tournament an opportunity to play against some of the best in the world.
It was also unique because players can buy in at the low. medium or high end, which allowed them to play in a variety of tournaments and games.
Other SCOOP final event winners include “Sumpas”, who took home more than $850,000, “BradL”, who took $627,000 and “DuckU”, who took almost $475,000.
