Online Poker on Google TV
Right now, gamblers who can’t or don’t want to head to a casino often play online from the privacy of their homes and with the convenience of their computer. Google announced plans this week that could make it even more comfortable and convenient.
Google is planning to offer the innovative television service which can allow viewers to use an on-screen search box to search for favorite TV shoes or other information that’s available on the web.
The idea behind the new innovation is that watching television could be easier, but many believe that a side benefit would be that people would be able to surf the internet and gamble online, all from the comfort of their sofas and with the view of their huge televisions to make the experience more exciting.
Sony is partnering with Google for this project; the company has announced that Sony TVs able to work with the Google TV feature will be available to consumers in the fall.
Some countries already have experience with gambling while watching TV. In the UK, gamblers can subscribe to NetPlay, which offers interactive gambling shows. Some casinos & poker sites in the U.S. and elsewhere allow players to gamble while watching TV in their casino hotel rooms.
The Google innovation, however, would allow people to gamble in their own homes, a truly unique concept.
