2009 WSOP Schedule
Harrah's the owner of the World Series of Poker tournament has just released the 2009 WSOP schedule. There will be 57 events up by 2 events from 2008. They have also made some changes to the tournament as well as keeping some of their changes they made in the 2008 wsop.
They will be keeping the WSOP Main Event November Nine which was a major change for the 2008 WSOP. The 2009 Main Event will be played from July 3 through July 14, 2009 and once the final table is set they will put the tournament on pause. They will then resume play on November 7-10 2009 until their is a 2009 WSOP Main Event champion.
They have removed the rebuy poker tournaments because many players expressed concern that players with large bankrolls would be able to buy a braclet by abusing the amount of re-buys. They have also introduced a special 40th annual poker tournament that will have a $40k buy-in and a special braclet. There will also be a $1000 dollar WSOP event which will be a first for the WSOP. The tournament organizers believe that this tournament will be the largest non main event tournament in the 57 world series events.
