25 Billionth Hand Drama
Posted on February 16th, 2009 by kdollar
Poker Stars.com dealt their 25th billion dollar hand early Monday morning. It was dealt at the Susilva fast $1/2 Limit Omaha H/L Table. There were 6 players sitting at the table: Confederate, NeonFrost, chris12080, n47j25s, FrtSpkndMn and tupapi777.
The players celebrated as the game went on pause as Poker Stars made sure this was indeed the right table and hand. When play resumed after about 15-20 minutes later only 5 players were given cards. As it turned out, Confedrate hadn't put in his anti and wasn't dealt in the hand missing out on the possibly huge pay day.
Confedrate was definitely bummed but took it pretty well for not having a chance at more then $250k dollars that was to be given away in the hand . It worked out for the other players because the winner took home $150k while the losers of the hand split another $100k...which meant their piece of the pie went up with him not being dealt.
When play finally restarted NeonFrost timed out and his hand was automatically folded as he didn't act in time. He was very upset about this ...typing in the chat box and very frustrated, while the rest of the table played the hand while he may have assumed he folded a hand worth potentially $150k.
When the hand was complete tupapi777 won but that was not taking into account NeonFrost's hand. Which right before the Poker Stars managment in the chat box said that the hand would be played as if every player that was dealt cards went all-in, meaning NeonFrost still had a chance. It ended up that NeonFrost indeed won the Hi of the hand while tupapi777 won the low meaning they split the $100k for the winner and both were awarded the $50k worth of tournament buy-ins. Seems like a good resolution...for everyone but confedrate.

Poker Stars.com has just announced their that their Mac Poker software is out of beta and officially supported by Poker Stars. There are instructions on how to download Poker Stars on a Mac at free poker download. This is a big step for PokerStars who is currently the largest online poker room and plans to keep it that way with the introduction of a mac poker client.
Poker Stars has been beta testing the version for quite some time and has finally decided it is ready for the prime time. FullTilt Poker.com the second largest poker room and Poker Stars biggest competition has had a mac poker client for some time so PokerStars was playing catch up.
Now if you are a mac poker player you have no excuse to not play online poker. There use to be a time where there weren't very many options but that time is now long gone with most of the major poker sites having a specific mac poker download...now if only they would create a native linux poker client.
