Aced Flipaments

Posted on April 16th, 2009 by kdollar

Aced Poker has recently announced a new Sit and Go option called Flipaments.  Flipaments are a heads up SNG game where the hole cards are dealt face up and each player is all-in the first hand. It has become a very popular game at poker rooms where poker players are looking for a coin flip game and Aced.com is looking to appease the online poker enthusiasts looking for similar action.

You can find the Aced Flipaments under Sit N Go's -> heads up. They currently have a couple different buy-in's starting at 3.10, 5.30, 10.50, 26, 52 and for the high stakes flippers $105.

If that isn't enough gamble for you they have also announced their Blitzkrieg SNG's that are 6 handed and played the same way. All of the players are all-in after the hole cards are dealt and the winner takes it all.

Are you feeling lucky? If you are, play at AcedPoker and get ready for some coin flipping poker.

Aced.com Sponsors Jamie Gold

Posted on February 5th, 2009 by kdollar

Aced.com has just announced that they have signed Jamie Gold the winner of the 2006 WSOP Main Event. The Aced Poker room is currently on the merge poker network but players will have to be on the Aced client to play against Jamie Gold.

Jamie Gold won $12,100,000, the largest poker tournament win ever and was the first poker player to win an excess of $10 million dollars in poker tournaments. Since then the WSOP Main Event has declined in attendence (by a couple thousand) due to the 2006 UIGEA with many online poker rooms pulling out of the US market.

Jamie Gold is somewhat controversial in the poker world because prior to winning the main event he promised his friend who got him a free seat from bodog, half of what ever he won. After he won the tournament he tried to not pay his friend but was eventually taken to court and they then settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.

Many also believe that Jamie Gold got lucky and isn't as accomplished poker player as he would like people to believe. That is why Aced will give players the chance to test his poker skill and players will have the chance to pit their skill against his. Since the deal was just announced Jamie Gold has yet to play at Aced.com, so we can't report on what limit he will be playing but many believe it will get some higher stakes poker games going at Aced.

He will be playing under the Aced.com account name: JamieGold.
