Absolute Poker WSOP 2010

Absolute Poker is offering solid incentives for players who qualify to the World Series of Poker through play at its site.
When you play in tournaments at Absolute Poker, you can qualify to the WSOP and receive special bonuses from AP for doing so. You can qualify for the WSOP through Steps Sit ‘n Gos or in the site’s regular MTT qualifiers. When you qualify and show up in Las Vegas to play, AP will put up at least $1,000 for you just for showing up.
Better yet, if you win multiple packages to the WSOP, Absolute Poker will add $12,000 playing money to your account. In order to entice people to actually shop up in Vegas and play as part of the team, AP is offering several incentives.
In particular there will be a prize pool. The pool will be divided among all player who play for team AP, with 75 percent of the money being cashed out among players who play in Vegas, and 25 percent being paid to players who qualify to play in the WSOP main event. If all players end up at the main event, the entire prize pool will be distributed evenly among all the players.

UBOC Online Championship

Absolute Poker (www.absolute poker.net) is encouraging players to forget about traveling to win a big poker tournament by offering a big prize pot for its at-home players. You can share in a prize pot of more than $4 million with the UBOC Online Championship this January.
The event begins Jan. 20 and ends Jan. 31 and encompasses 18 events, including a $1 million championship. The events are hosted by all-star poker pros.
There’s sure to be an event for every player, with events like Deepstack, No Limit, Pot Limit, Holdem, Omaha, and Turbo tournaments held during the 12-day event.
Winners don’t just win cash, either. Each of the 18 winners of the UBOC championship events will also win a watch, which Absolute Poker.net says will serve as a conversation piece and “luxurious timepiece”.
Hosts of the various championship events include well-known players like Joe Sebok (host of Poker2Nite on FSN), Michael Binger (winner of the 2009 Crown Aussie Millions Championship), Scott Ian (founder of the band Anthrax and a cash winner at the 2009 World Series of Poker), Phil Hellmuth (11-time World Series of Poker winner) and Annie Duke (2004 World Series of Poker champion and runner-up on 2009’s Celebrity Apprentice).

Super Bowl Poker Tournaments

Poker players who are also football fans might want to get in on the Texas Hold ‘em tournaments at Absolute Poker (www.absolutepoker.net). Three winners will find themselves on the way to an all-expenses paid trip to the Super Bowl this February.
Here’s how it works: Players should get in on three Texas Hold ‘em tournaments at either of the online poker rooms. One winner will stand tall at each of the tournaments and be awarded the trip package. Tournament dates are Jan. 6, Jan. 13, and Jan. 20. All begin at 9:30 ET.

Absolute Poker Epic Nine

October marks the beginning of one of their most lucrative and fun tournaments, the Epic Nine.
The month of October is slated to hold qualifying rounds for a chance to win a seat at the Epic Nine. This is a nine seat poker tournament that will be held November 10, 2009 at 9:00 PM ET. Eight qualifying players will compete against the legendary Phil Hellmuth for a chance to win a $50,000 pot. If any player at this tournament knocks Hellmuth out of the running there is a bonus of entry into the $200,000 event.
There are several ways to qualify for the remaining eight seats at this poker tournament. October’s MTT LB winner will win one of the available seats. AP College Challenge

Absolute Poker.net has just created a new series for college students. This series features a full blown poker tournament that is perfect for college students. With table buy-ins that range from twenty five cents to five dollars, as well as freerolls available, even the typical poor college student can afford daily entries.
The tournament is setup with a structure of daily tournaments feeding a Sunday tournament. For the top 9 players from each day, they get a freeroll for the next day's tournament. The weekly tournament hosts the top 9 players from the week and has a prize pool of two-hundred dollars for the winner. There is an online Main Event tournament scheduled for November 30th, with the top six finishers in this tournament being invited to participate in a in-person final tournament in Los Angeles. This tournament will be streamed live on the web.
For the top 18 players, or those that make it to the Main Event, there are guaranteed cash prizes. The 18th person will receive 200 dollars and the 7th place finisher receives 750 dollars. From there, those that participate in the main event will win between two thousand and ten thousand dollars depending on where they place. The winner receives a custom made ring as well as the ten thousand dollars in tuition money and will be featured as the collegeate player of the year in Bluff magazine.
The tournament begins soon, with the weekly tournaments beginning October 11th and running through November 29th. Games begin between 8:15 and 8:45pm. The 8:15, eastern time, games are the freerolls for players that were the top of their table the night before, 8:30pm is the .25 cent games and 8:45pm is the five dollar games.
Absolute Poker's College Challenge is for college students only. Their rules allow them to verify student's enrollment status at any time and will require proof of enrollment for the final tournaments at any time they request it during the tournament.
