AP College Challenge

Absolute Poker.net has just created a new series for college students.  This series features a full blown poker tournament that is perfect for college students.  With table buy-ins that range from twenty five cents to five dollars, as well as freerolls available, even the typical poor college student can afford daily entries.

The tournament is setup with a structure of daily tournaments feeding a Sunday tournament.  For the top 9 players from each day, they get a freeroll for the next day's tournament.  The weekly tournament hosts the top 9 players from the week and has a prize pool of two-hundred dollars for the winner.  There is an online Main Event tournament scheduled for November 30th, with the top six finishers in this tournament being invited to participate in a in-person final tournament in Los Angeles.  This tournament will be streamed live on the web.

For the top 18 players, or those that make it to the Main Event, there are guaranteed cash prizes.  The 18th person will receive 200 dollars and the 7th place finisher receives 750 dollars.  From there, those that participate in the main event will win between two thousand and ten thousand dollars depending on where they place.  The winner receives a custom made ring as well as the ten thousand dollars in tuition money and will be featured as the collegeate player of the year in Bluff magazine.

The tournament begins soon, with the weekly tournaments beginning October 11th and running through November 29th.  Games begin between 8:15 and 8:45pm.  The 8:15, eastern time, games are the freerolls for players that were the top of their table the night before, 8:30pm is the .25 cent games and 8:45pm is the five dollar games.

Absolute Poker's College Challenge is for college students only.  Their rules allow them to verify student's enrollment status at any time and will require proof of enrollment for the final tournaments at any time they request it during the tournament.
